The Season of Stani
Çlirimtare Januzaj & Urtesë Zeneli
The Season of Stani is an ethnographic film that focuses on the survival of the seasonal practices of pastoralism and transhumance in the mountains of Isniq (Milishevc). Through direct participation, anthropologists Çlirimtare Januzaj and Urtesë Zeneli collect ethnographic material and present the mountain pasture as a sacred space of memory, a place of spiritual connections, family histories, and collective identity. The film follows a family throughout the seasonal cycle, from their ascent to the mountain pastures to their return at the end of the summer. By documenting one of humanity's oldest ways of life, the researchers also grapple with an open question if this practice will survive in the future.
