Something is About to Happen
Kreshnik Arifi

Kreshnik Arifi's Something is About to Happen is a site-specific sound intervention at Prishtina's former Brick Factory. Presented as a one-day event, the project reimagines the factory's history through sound, featuring a sound installation, video, and an interview with a former worker. It explores the site's industrial past, its transformation, and the tension between abandonment and potential future redevelopment.

Particle structures (2024)
Video, 6:17
"Particle Structures" reimagines the former brick factory as a sonic processing plant. By transforming sound particles into architectural fragments, the work explores the dual nature of the site: a place of production and transformation. The factory, once a producer of physical materials, now becomes one for sonic matter. This work interrogates the factory's identity, and its historical function and speculating on its potential future. The resulting sound structures exist in a state of tension, simultaneously evoking the emergence of a new order and the threat of it’s structural collapse. In this way, the work transforms the factory into a site of sonic experimentation, where its very essence is questioned and redefined.
