Herd by Barış Karamuço is a documentary that captures the daily life of shepherds in the Sharri Mountains, a region spanning southern Kosovo, northwestern Macedonia, and northeastern Albania. For centuries, farmers from Kosovo, particularly from Prizren’s villages, have ascended these mountain peaks with their herds during the summer months.

The project documents the shepherds’ routines, including sheep milking, cheese making, and the return of the flocks, offering a window into a long-standing pastoral tradition. Through these portrayals, Kope also highlights the challenges faced by these farmers and the intricate processes involved in livestock breeding, preserving the cultural heritage of this age-old practice.
