ALBUM 1990-1999
Gresa Nuredini
Album 1990-1999 is a photo book of personal and collective memories of the 90s in Kosovo, compiled and curated by Gresa Nuredini. This compilation includes 167 photographs selected from 807 photographs collected from various regions of Kosova, starting from the winter of 1991 in Pejë to the summer of 1999 in liberated Prishtina. Through personal archives and collected nostalgic narratives, the book shows fragments of an often hidden reality of society during the 90s, as a joint documentation of collective resistance and solidarity. Weaving the recurring themes of the events documented during that time, the photographic archive offers an insight into commonality and collectivity, as a symbolic album that evokes the memory of family albums lost during the war.
Album 1990-1999 contains 167 photographs collected through an open call inviting people across Kosovo to share their family photographs from the 1990s. A total of 807 photographs were collected through this initiative. Below is the poster used to promote the call, designed by Aurela Berila.
